It is hoped that these awards will help in dveloping the individuals' sense of adventure, exploration and personal achievement in the world of climbing.
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS:
The ROWCC Climbing Awards have grown again. This is an update for your review, and if you qualify for an award, go for it. After seeing last year's recipients at the rendezvous, everyone should be motivated. So enjoy your adventures in climbing.
Application for awards is made by submitting a written list of climbs, dates of each climb and any pertinent information you may want to include (condition, partners, etc.) to the ROWCC Climbing Committee. The Climbing Committee submits a recommendation to the president on the application within one month and notifies the applicant of the recommendation and specific approval and/or disapproval of the climbs. The Award is then passed on by the ROWCC Executive Board at the next meeting. It is hoped that these awards will help in dveloping the individuals' sense of adventure, exploration and personal achievement in the world of climbing.
The 10 Climb Awards- The 30 Climb Award, The 50 Climb Award, The 100 Climb Award, The 5 "14,000'ers" Award, The 11 "14,000'ers" Award, The 27 "14,000'ers" Award. Note that most of the climbing areas are within a long days drive of the So Cal area. There are 27 14,000 foot summits in the Western Coastal States. You may submit climbing areas and peaks outside our "local" area. The Climbing Committee will review these areas keeping the spirit of adventure and exploration in mind.
